2024 Fire Season: Building Oregon’s Fire Resilience

We are proud to be working with the State of Oregon to build fire breaks using our new CAT equipment! It is a privilege to continue our service using the skills we acquired in the Army to fight Oregon’s fires. In the future, we expect the trend of hotter summers and extreme fires to continue. Our close encounter with the Smith River Complex fires in 2022 inspired us to selective cut our own timber and grow our business to support fire resilience in our community. IN the spring of 2024, we invested in a CAT excavator and mulcher that reaches up to 20 feet as well as a CAT Skid-Steer. We plan to add an additional low boy trailer to haul our equipment where we are needed to fight fires in Oregon.

We will return to consulting and design following fire season. Please contact Katherine McClain if you are interested in a quote at (541) 537-1210.

We offer consulting and design services in the following areas:

Drought and fire resilient landscapes designed to be ecologically appropriate.

Design focussed on defensible, fire-resistant spaces around your home and property.

Permaculture design in both large rural areas and urban spaces as small are your front yard.

Permaculture consulting in your space – anything from creating a fire-wise space that works with nature and not against it, food-forest development, plant diversity and use of native plants, water use, etc.

After fire recovery, offering resources and connecting you with Federal and State aid.

We meet you where you are and are happy to consult on both small and large projects.
